Hello! My name is Jana and I am a Garden Operations Support Intern for the Isla Vista Gardens (mostly Methodist and IVCC). I started this role at the beginning of Summer 2023, and am very eager to collaborate with other Garden Operators and learn more about the community garden system and food security. My past experience with habitat restoration in the UC Reserve system led me to an interest in sustainable ecology and plant development. I hope to learn a lot more about garden maintenance, sustainability, and working within a closed loop system! In my free time, I love to rollerskate at skate parks, work on arts and crafts projects, and spend time outside!
