Since Winter 2023, I have been communicating with interested and current volunteers that work at our gardens! I also manage the Saturday Morning Lives, a recurring weekly event that gives UCSB students and the Isla Vista community the opportunity to come out to volunteer at our gardens. Additionally, I help manage the volunteer portion of our social media pages, and am in close contact with our community through writing weekly newsletter. I also communicate with student and local organizations and coordinate collaborative volunteer events with them at our gardens! Being in a position that gives community members the platform to be involved with our program through gardening has been one of the greatest pleasures of being a Volunteer Coordinator; to see our gardens thrive through the hard work of our volunteers has always made me want to strive to make volunteering and gardening even more well-aware of within our local community.
