UCSB COOKS

In this multi week cooking series, you can learn how to cook and meet new friends in a relaxing environment. From developing knife skills to creating your own teriyaki sauce, we are confident that you will grow your kitchen skills from being a part of this program. Because UCSB Cooks has a high demand, there is an application process, but don't worry we offer this series every quarter so apply and we hope to cook with you soon.

Budget Bites: Oatmeal with Apples and Honey

1.5 oz oatmeal
1/2 cup water
1 apple
1 oz honey 

Budget Bites: Oatmeal with Cranberries and Peanut Butter

1 cup water
1.5 oz oatmeal
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon cranberries

Budget Bites: Lentil Soup

2 carrots
1/2 onion
1 stalk of celery
2 potatoes
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 cup water
1 oz lentils
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves

Budget Bites: Burrito Bowl

1 cup water
1 cup rice
1/2 head of lettuce
3 tomatoes
3 tablespoons tomato sauce

1 teaspoon garlic
1 oz tomatoes
3 tablespoons corn
1 teaspoon pepper
Bit of parsley

Budget Bites: Chicken Breast, Lentils, and Salad

Lentils:                                     
1/2 cup water                               
1 oz dried lentils           
Pinch of salt                               

Salad:
1 cup mixed greens
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon vinegar

 

Chicken Breast:
Pinch of pepper
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 chicken breast

 

Budget Bites: BRC Burrito with Broccoli

1 cup water
1 oz brown rice
2 pinches of salt
1 oz dried black beans
1 oz broccoli crowns
1 oz cheese
1 oz salsa
1 oz sour cream
1 tortilla
