The goals of the Student Health Nutrition Counseling program are to help students have a healthy relationship with food, learn fact from fiction, and develop a positive body image.
Appointments can be scheduled online or by calling (805) 893-3371. Food records are appreciated at appointments. Initial consultations are 50 minutes and follow-up appointments are typically 25 minutes.
Nutrition Counseling is covered without additional charges for students covered by Gaucho Health Insurance (GHI) or the Gaucho Access Plan (GAP). Other students will incur a fee for this service. Services offered range from diet counseling for long-term health, dietary intervention for high cholesterol, high triglycerides, diabetes, hypertension, sports performance issues, and working with disordered eating concerns.
