About
The Associated Students Food Bank is a student-run, student-led service at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Their primary focus is ensuring friendly, confidential service to UCSB students in need of food and toiletries. As a comprehensive and holistic service, they also provide resource referral to students, educational and skill-based workshops, and other tools and resources to alleviate hunger. Furthermore, they are committed to resolving long-term issues affecting hunger to ensure that the student community is able to afford the food that they want and need.
How does it work?
Students may come once every day on Mondays through Fridays. Each morning, staff will update A.S. Foodbank's Instagram stories with available produce and other goods. Fresh produce and bread are first come, first serve.
For the best selection, come early! Students are encouraged to bring their own bags in order to reduce waste but if needed, a recycled bag can be provided if available. Students may then choose their items that range range from non perishable goods, toiletries, and other miscellaneous items.
